Having great environmental monitoring in place is a first step in getting your collection ready to take a loan, to run a special exhibit, and to improve your visitor experience.
It's very common for collections making loans to require specific environmental conditions for the collection taking the loan. At the end of the day, loaning institutions want to know how well you're complying with the environmental standards agreed upon in your contract.
While other companies give you very basic line charts, at Conserv we've developed reporting tools that support your efforts to evaluate environmental standards for loans - whether you're the organization making or taking the loan.
Take a look at our "Relative Humidity Compliance Report" which is part of our free Conserv Cloud environmental monitoring platform. This is a report designed with collections professionals in mind.

Set Points & Fluctuation
Most loan contracts have stipulations for acceptable "set points" and "fluctuations" in data and we've pulled these pieces of information out to make it very easy to identify good and bad days.
For a real life example, a Conserv customer was required to maintain an RH set point between 40% and 60% with no daily fluctuations greater than 10%. The customer setup real-time monitoring to evaluate the current performance of the gallery space and to identify areas of improvement in preparation for the loan.
The facilities team was given direct access to this compliance report through the Conserv Cloud portal, and with this data in hand they developed a new HVAC program that met the needs of this particular exhibit.
Automated Data Collection
Organizations making loans want easy access to environmental compliance data and organizations taking loans don't want any extra overhead in collecting and sharing environmental compliance data.
In the same real life example above, our customer setup Conserv wireless environmental data across their whole collection without messing with WiFi or getting the IT department involved. And because our customer is collecting data automatically, the collection making the loan can easily log in and see the compliance reporting at any time.Numbers you should know. An average collection spends one hour a month collecting and organizing environmental data for every disconnected data logger they own. We've done the math and an average collection spends at least $3,000 every year manually dealing with data.
Monitoring for Loans
The whole process of collecting, analyzing, and sharing environmental data for loans is now much simpler. Feel free to raise your expectations for what's possible with collections-focused environmental monitoring.
If you're making or taking loans for your collection, consider Conserv to help you take the hassle out of monitoring. Our free Conserv Cloud platform is a great place to start.
